'Behind You' is a low-budget indie film begins when teenage Olivia and her sister Claire who get to the home of their estranged Aunt Beth, accompanied by her concerned family friend Camilla. Camilla has been caring for the two sisters, whose mother has died and father is on an extended business trip. But now she had to leave the children with their relatives, who apparently didn't like having them as guests.
Aunt Bess, whose intimidating demeanor makes her look like a character in a Gothic novel, tells the newcomers that there are certain rules that must be followed. The girls are forbidden to enter the locked basement because "there are rats". They are to ignore any noises they may hear at night because of her "sleepwalking tendencies". As if this were not strange enough, the girls soon realized that the house was completely devoid of mirrors, for reasons unknown. Fortunately for them, a friendly neighbour, Charles, was often around to lighten the mood.
